On Sunday, Aug. 11, officers from the department responded to the Iona Prep campus, where an owl got caught in a net on the school grounds and needed a helping hand to shake loose.

“Owl bet this majestic creature was relieved to see our officers today 🤣!!!,” New Rochelle PBA Vice President Liliana Sanchez posted on social media. “Our guys had a hoot untangling this poor bird from a net at Iona Prep. We’re glad to report that the owl appeared to be unharmed and flew away after the ordeal. Nice job fellas 👍🏻 🦉.”
